Rimev
Mobile-first, subject-agnostic spaced repetition learning platform.
Overview
Rimev is a mobile-first spaced repetition application designed to make learning and retention effortless. Users can create, import, and share flashcard decks, take adaptive practice quizzes, and maintain daily review streaks.
Why I built it
Most learning tools focus on passive content consumption rather than memory retention. Rimev applies proven learning science and memory algorithms (SM-2 variants) to maximize long-term recall.
What I was exploring
Spaced repetition scheduling algorithms, mobile-first responsive UX, Supabase RLS database architecture, and OpenRouter AI integrations for automated deck generation.
How it works
Built with Next.js App Router and TypeScript. Supabase manages PostgreSQL data storage, authentication, and security policies. Daily review scheduling computes optimal review intervals based on card recall performance.
Technology
Interesting problems
Balancing adaptive review scheduling algorithm performance with mobile UX. Synchronizing offline progress and Supabase database state securely via RLS policies.
What I learned
Retention algorithms require extreme UI simplicity on mobile to sustain daily habits. Supabase RLS and server-side state synchronization make complex data pipelines maintainable.
Current status
Active — A learning platform built around spaced repetition algorithms, active recall, and adaptive daily review queues to help learners retain information long-term.
